Tyre selection is always a tricky thing, especially in winter, when conditions can range from dusty hardpack to greasy slop. To cover all bases we turned to Aussie tyre manufacturer MOTOZ, who threw us a couple of sets of their new Tractionator Enduro S/T. Designed to blend MX traction levels with enduro-ready puncture resistance, the Tractionator Enduro S/T rear is reversible to target performance towards either soft/wet or soft/dry conditions. The level of traction is impressive, even in the most adverse conditions, with both ends giving great feedback to the rider – you know exactly when and where the grip will let go.

Driving the rear wheel is an incredibly tough, grit-resistant DID Z-Ring chain draped seductively around a sexy 52-tooth Stealth Supersprox. …
